Events Canceled Tuesday, Jul 24 2007

It is with regret that we will be canceling this weekend’s Gnostic Mass and Initiations.

No one here has had very much sleep, everything that belongs downstairs is upstairs and the flood waters have not yet peeked.

We are expecting more rain in the next 48 hours and we therefore are not able to host the events planned for this coming weekend.

We are all very sorry about this and we will be rescheduling for as soon as possible.

Please check back here for more information about other events to be held here at Tamesa. Our next event will be a ‘Feast of Roses‘ to celebrate the first night of the prophet and his bride on Saturday 11th August.

Flood Warning Monday, Jul 23 2007

Tamesa Oasis is currently under a flood warning.

Everything is ok so far but we have had to move everything upstairs already and we are waiting for any changes in the weather.

This may effect the events planned for this weekend.
Please check back here for more information and contact us before setting out on Saturday.

We will endeavour to keep everyone updated as and when we have any further news.
Thank you for your patience

Man of Earth Initiations and Gnostic Mass Sunday, Jul 22 2007

On Sunday 29th July, there will be I* initiations at Tamesa Oasis followed by a celebration of Liber XV The Gnostic Mass in the afternoon.

The initiations will begin at 11am, all initiated to I* and above are welcome to attend.
The Mass will begin at 3pm and is open to all.
Please arrive in plenty of time for a prompt start at the stated times as later arrivals will not be permitted to enter the temple.

As with all initiations at Tamesa, those officering are required to attend a rehearsal the evening before (Saturday 28th), this will also be open to anyone of the appropriate degrees wishing to learn more about the initiation ritual. Please contact the Oasis secretary for further details on this.If you would like to attend both of these events then you will be welcome to remain at the Oasis for lunch, please bring a small contribution for food and drink for this, or if you are only able to attend the Mass then there will also be a feast in the evening.

Please bring your OTO robe with you to wear to the initiations.
Those attending the Mass that have been confirmed into the EGC may bring their white robes to wear. If you wish to be baptised or confirmed into the church then please contact the Oasis in advance.

If you are new to the OTO then a Gnostic Mass is the perfect opportunity to come along to you local body and become involved in what we do.
Our last event was a great success, the Tai Chi class was a wonderful experience and we hope to see many of you again soon.

Tai Chi Class Thursday, Jul 12 2007

Tamesa Oasis will be holding a day long class in the arts of Tai Chi and Qi Gong on Sunday 15th July.

We have a qualified teacher coming to offer us a taste of this ancient martial art as a form of meditation. Tai Chi is a ‘moving meditation’, by focussing the mind solely on the movements to bring about a state of mental calm and clarity.

This is a very gentle form of exercise that is suitable for people of all ages and physical abilities and requires no previous experience of meditation or martial arts.

The class will run all day beginning at 11.30am and ending at 7pm, however if you would like to attend only the morning session when we will be focusing on Qi Gong which is designed to synchronise the breathing with the movement of the body then that would be feasible.

We will be breaking for lunch during the day so please bring food to sustain you for the duration and wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing suitable for ease of movement.

If you would like to attend this class then please contact the Oasis secretary whose contact information is available in the contacts section.
