On Saturday 21st June we will be performing a group ritual to Mithras in celebration of the summer solstice.

This will be the third time we have performed this fascinating ritual which was adapted from a ritual from the 4th century e.v. It is set to be a very popular event after members of Tamesa Oasis gave a very successful presentation on Mithraism at the Norwegian National O.T.O. gather in Oslo in May.

The temple will be transformed into a Mithraeum, the traditional temple of Mithras worship centered around the Tauroctony, an artistic depiction of the god slaying the sacred bull from which wheat and seeds came forth and created all the loveliness of nature.

More information on Mithras can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mithraism

And details of our previous Mithraic celebrations can be found here and here.

If you would like to take part in this ritual please contact the Tamesa Oasis secretary for more information.
